Our Story

Founded as a family business in the heart of the North American breadbasket, Bundy Baking Solutions has become a global industry leader serving many of the world’s largest and most successful bakeries.

1964

Russell T. Bundy Associates, Inc. was founded by Russell Bundy in 1964 to engage in the purchase and resale of pre-owned bakery pans and equipment. RTB originated in Columbus, OH and later relocated to Urbana, OH due to the need for additional space and growth potential.

Our Founder, Russell T. Bundy

Russell, one of the most prominent people in the baking industry, began his career with Ekco/Glaco—then a leading manufacturer of baking pans and coating services. By age 25, Russ had risen to become the company’s national sales manager. His entrepreneurial spirit soon beckoned him to launch RTB, what would eventually become part of Bundy Baking Solutions and its six family brands. In 2006, Russell was honored as an industry leader by being recognized in the inaugural class of inductees into the Baking Hall of Fame.

One of his long-time passions has been to collect the memorabilia and historical artifacts of the baking industry. He has created a remarkable museum dedicated to his collection, which is housed in Urbana, OH. The Bundy Baking Museum is indeed a fitting tribute to the industry that has fueled Russ’ entrepreneurial passion for more than 60 years.

The Bundy Family Of Brands

Russel T. Bundy Associates, Inc.

Russell had been in the baking industry for many years already when he recognized the opportunity for selling used pans to bakeries and, soon thereafter, the opportunity to also provide pre-owned bakery equipment. From these humble roots, the entire family of Bundy Baking Solutions products has grown to become one of the most recognized names in the global baking industry.

1964 Russell T. Bundy Associates, Inc. (RTB) formed

1972 Operations moved to current location in Urbana, Ohio

RTB Established the First Pre-owned Search Tool

Expertise in used equipment and bakery operations has resulted in a number of complete “turnkey” installations, wherein a client provided a site and was given a design, layout and properly sized equipment with the end result being an efficient bakery production plant. This knowledge and background have also resulted in numerous requests throughout our industry for equipment evaluations of complete plants for purposes of sale or purchase.
